Medical Billing Claims Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a Medical Billing Claims Administrator to join a well‑established medical bureau in Pretoria East. The role focuses on specialist private‑practice billing, handling claims, coding, and client liaison in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full billing cycles for specialist clients, from claim submission to resolution of rejections.
• Apply ICD‑10, CPT and procedure codes accurately.
• Process PMB claims and apply appropriate modifiers.
• Liaise with clients, medical practices, patients and medical schemes professionally.
• Maintain up‑to‑date billing records and support month‑end reconciliations.
• Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality and high service standards.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Minimum 2 years recent experience in medical billing within a bureau or specialist practice.
• Direct billing experience for medical specialists.
• Own reliable transport and a valid driver’s licence.
• High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and client service skills.

Required skills

• ICD‑10 coding.
• CPT coding.
• Procedure coding and use of modifiers.
• Knowledge of medical scheme rules and PMB processing.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook and billing software.
