Medical Accounts/Admin Clerk

About the role

A specialist General Surgery practice in Bellville, Cape Town is looking for a diligent Medical Accounts/Admin Clerk. You will support the practice by handling medical debt collections, managing debtor records, and ensuring accurate billing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Capture medical aid remittance statements and allocate patient payments.
• Follow up on outstanding medical aid and patient accounts.
• Liaise with medical aids regarding unpaid or rejected claims.
• Maintain the practice debtors book, age analysis, and send patient statements.
• Assist the Practice Manager with outstanding debts and account reconciliations.
• Provide general administrative support, including reception duties and coordination of medical reports.

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
• Previous experience in a private medical practice, preferably a surgical practice.
• Experience with medical debtors or accounts is preferred.
• High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• VeriClaim experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
