Mechanical Technician – Maintenance & Overhaul

About the role

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining, modifying, overhauling and installing mechanical equipment in a plant environment. The role ensures that machinery operates reliably, complies with HSE standards and meets quality expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily mechanical maintenance and scheduled preventive maintenance according to NOMAC procedures.
• Monitor equipment condition, report non‑conformances and support corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures, diagnose faults, replace defective parts and carry out adjustments, alignment, oiling and greasing.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, mechanical diagrams and machinery drawings to guide maintenance activities.
• Check spare‑part inventory levels and support effective inventory control.
• Update maintenance logbooks with detailed records of work performed, findings and equipment status.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and adhere to all relevant policies, HSE procedures and quality standards.

Required profile

• Technical certificate or Associate’s Diploma in Mechanical Maintenance.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial setting.
• Ability to read technical documentation and apply safety and quality guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and engineers.
