Mechanical Fitter

About the role

Wireforce, one of South Africa’s largest wire converters, is seeking Mechanical Fitters for its Germiston plant. The role involves installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment used in wire production, working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Fit, assemble and align mechanical components on production lines.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery, including mesh machines.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to minimise downtime.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards.
• Work shift patterns as required.

Required profile

• Qualified Fitter from an accredited QCTO institution.
• Minimum three years’ experience in a manufacturing or steel environment.
• Experience in wire manufacturing, turning or mesh machine operation is advantageous.
• Valid South African driver’s licence.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain high accuracy.
