Mechanical Engineer (FreeCAD) – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in FreeCAD to work remotely on a contract basis. The role involves creating and refining parametric CAD models and ensuring they meet rigorous design and manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD according to project specifications.
• Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies, applying best practices in component integration.
• Apply GD&T and Design for Manufacturing principles to guarantee manufacturability and quality.
• Produce clear technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.
• Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings, identifying and resolving issues.
• Use Python scripting to automate repetitive or complex CAD tasks.

Required profile

• Strong experience in mechanical, product, or industrial engineering with a focus on parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or comparable parametric CAD platforms.
• Solid understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, GD&T, and DFM best practices.
• Proven ability to generate comprehensive technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
• Experience performing engineering QA and verifying model integrity against specifications.
• Python scripting skills for CAD automation are highly advantageous.
