Mechanical Engineer – Blow Moulding Specialist

About the role

Our client, a leading manufacturer of high‑quality rigid plastic packaging, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide technical support to production and drive engineering projects. The role focuses on blow‑moulding processes, ensuring product quality, machine reliability and sustainable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Industrialise and maintain product processes for effective startups and sustained production.
• Gather data, perform basic analysis and identify trends to support production and engineering projects.
• Monitor machine performance, enforce corrective actions and control scrap to meet quality targets.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, GMP and Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) requirements.
• Train setting and processing teams on best practices and new systems.
• Maintain detailed records of process changes, inventory of technical supplies and equipment.
• Uphold health and safety standards, report hazards and maintain housekeeping in the assigned area.

Required profile

• Grade 12 and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in blow‑moulding environments.
• Clear criminal record and sober habits.
• Ability to work onsite in Isando, Johannesburg.
