Mechanical Draughtsperson

About the role

AquaPlan is seeking a detail‑driven Mechanical Draughtsperson with strong SolidWorks expertise to join its engineering team in Kempton Park. You will create precise mechanical drawings that support the design, manufacture, and construction of water and wastewater treatment plants.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed mechanical designs and drawings of plants and equipment using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Review drawings, materials, and equipment for compliance with project specifications and engineering standards.
• Verify manufacturing instructions and processes to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Measure components accurately to support design and assembly requirements.
• Interpret P&IDs, engineering notes, and component details.
• Produce assembly drawings from CAD part models.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical design and draughting.
• SolidWorks proficiency is essential.
• Relevant qualification in Draughting, Mechanical Engineering or a related field is advantageous.
• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs and engineering specifications.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Excellent attention to detail, time‑management and professional work ethic.
