Mechanical Draughtsman

About the role

Our client, a multidisciplinary built‑environment firm, is looking for a Mechanical Draughtsman to join its mechanical engineering team in Cape Town. The role focuses on producing accurate mechanical services drawings and 3‑D models within a BIM‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Create and detail mechanical services drawings for HVAC, wet services, medical gas and fire protection systems.
• Develop and maintain Revit families and produce 3‑D models, sections and technical details.
• Prepare equipment schedules and import/export Bills of Quantities.
• Coordinate mechanical models with architects and other engineering disciplines in Revit MEP.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure compliance with project standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical drafting experience in building services.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Matric/Grade 12 with a relevant drafting qualification; additional B.Tech or National Diploma is a plus.
• Ability to work in an office setting and attend site inspections as needed.
