Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for creating, drafting, and designing product layouts and schemes for hydraulically driven equipment used in the mining industry. The role involves testing prototypes, adjusting designs, and analysing failed products to improve future iterations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct product testing and provide technical oversight.
• Create CAD designs, manage workstations, and produce engineering drawings.
• Develop technical documentation and hydraulic system specifications.
• Generate detailed schematics, calculations, and feasibility assessments for new designs.
• Review and analyse defunct products to identify improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer registration (Pr Eng) or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of industry experience, preferably in drilling or mining equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical components and hydraulic systems.
