Marketing Co-ordinator

About the role

The client, a leading South African meat manufacturer and distributor, is seeking a Marketing Co‑ordinator to drive promotional activities across its retail network. The role blends strategic planning with hands‑on execution, ensuring campaigns, pricing and in‑store branding align with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an annual marketing and promotional calendar.
• Create strategic media plans and coordinate advertising across print, radio and digital channels.
• Plan, execute and evaluate consumer promotions to boost sales and brand awareness.
• Liaise with graphic designers to produce in‑store marketing materials and point‑of‑sale assets.
• Source, negotiate and manage relationships with advertising vendors, printers and other service providers.
• Conduct regular competitor and market analysis, monitoring pricing, promotions and trends.
• Work with management to maintain competitive pricing while protecting margins.
• Monitor promotion performance and deliver post‑campaign analysis and recommendations.
• Visit stores to ensure correct implementation of campaigns and branding.
• Engage with store managers to guarantee effective execution of promotional activities.
• Update website content and manage the company’s social media presence, including Facebook.
• Create customer newsletters and other marketing communications.
• Build strong cross‑departmental relationships to support marketing initiatives.

Required profile

• Marketing Diploma or equivalent NQF qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of marketing experience in an FMCG environment.
• Proven experience in brand, trade and retail marketing.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate with media houses, printers and other suppliers.
• Strong understanding of pricing strategies, gross profit margins and retail promotions.
• Experience conducting competitor and market analysis.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
