Market Manager, Africa

About the role

The Accommodation team at Trip.com is expanding its African portfolio and seeks a Market Manager to lead hotel partner growth across key markets such as Ethiopia, Nigeria, Mauritius, Seychelles, Ghana, and Zambia. Based remotely in Cape Town, you will drive inventory expansion and deliver value to travellers.

Key responsibilities

• Execute business strategy to meet growth targets and broaden inventory coverage in African markets.
• Conduct market research to spot trends, competitive dynamics, and development opportunities.
• Collaborate with tourism boards, travel companies, and external stakeholders to develop destinations, organise workshops and attend exhibitions.
• Own end‑to‑end hotel acquisition processes and manage existing hotel accounts.
• Identify high‑potential prospects, lead contracting, and ensure quality and quantity of new property signings.
• Maintain and grow existing partnerships, monitor performance and increase revenue.
• Ensure hotel content, rates, availability and products align with company standards and customer expectations.
• Work with operations and cross‑functional teams for seamless execution of initiatives.
• Prepare regular performance reports for senior management and propose solutions.

Required profile

• Fluency in English (French is a plus).
• Very proactive with a strong sense of ownership.
• Team player with a driven “get it done” attitude.
• Detail‑oriented and fast learner.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, able to build relationships at all levels.
