Manufacturing Engineering Technician

About the role

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our established engineering team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will work hands‑on in a production environment, supporting CNC programming, CAD design, and continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer technical requirements and assist with quotation preparation.
• Create and maintain manufacturing drawings, process documentation, and routing sheets.
• Develop CNC turning and milling programs using CAD/CAM software.
• Support machine setup, troubleshooting, and optimisation of manufacturing processes.
• Participate in first‑off approvals, production validation, and dimensional inspections.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and technical problem‑solving.

Required profile

• Diploma, degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Drafting, Toolmaking or a related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• CAD/CAM and CNC programming.
• Mechanical drafting and toolmaking knowledge.
• Basic metrology and quality inspection techniques.
