About the role
The Managing Executive will lead the insurance broking division, overseeing both life and short‑term insurance lines. Reporting directly to the Group CEO, the role sets strategic direction, drives financial performance and sits on the business board as a Director.
Key responsibilities
- Define and implement the long‑term business strategy, regularly reviewing and adjusting to market changes.
- Lead the development of divisional and corporate budgets, ensuring sustainable financial growth.
- Manage relationships with insurance product providers and other business partners.
- Ensure compliance with King IV, statutory requirements and corporate governance standards.
- Identify organisational risks, implement mitigation actions and report performance to the Group CEO, Exco and the board.
- Oversee senior management performance and champion equitable HR practices, including employment equity plans.
Required profile
- Minimum 10 years of experience in insurance, preferably within a broking environment.
- At least 5 years in an executive management role.
- Degree in Business Management or Financial Management.
- Valid driving licence.
- Preference for candidates from designated groups in line with the client’s transformation strategy.
Required skills
What we offer
- Cost‑to‑company salary ranging from R209 000 to R240 000 per month.
- Short‑term incentive equal to 50% of annual salary for on‑par performance.
- Long‑term incentive of an additional 50% of annual salary, vesting over three years.
- Retirement funding tailored to individual tax positions.
- Group life cover of two times annual salary (increaseable to seven times).
- Income protection up to 75% of the package, CPI‑linked.
- Funeral cover for employee and family.
- 25 days annual leave plus office closure days.
