Manager: Electrical Services

About the role

Kouga Municipality is seeking a qualified professional to lead its Electrical Services department. The role involves strategic planning, asset management and ensuring compliance with electrical regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate electrical key performance indicators and align them with the municipality’s strategic plans.
• Manage electrical supply assets, legal matters and develop guidelines for functional requirements.
• Prepare business plans, capital estimates and source funding for electrical infrastructure projects.
• Oversee financial management, budgeting, audit compliance and risk mitigation for the department.
• Lead staff performance management, training needs analysis and skills development planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 7) – registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa required.
• Minimum 5 years of municipal electrical engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial position.
• Valid Code B driving licence; a Government Certificate of Competency is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of electrical regulations, procedures and policies.
