Manager - Accounting Services

About the role

The Manager – Accounting Services will support Apex Group’s growing alternative assets team in Johannesburg. Reporting to an Associate Director, the role combines financial reporting, team development and compliance responsibilities across multiple client portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Jointly develop the Johannesburg teams and manage day‑to‑day financial reporting and portfolio management for clients.
• Lead specialised services teams, working directly with customers to ensure structures operate efficiently and comply with relevant laws and contractual obligations.
• Coordinate with senior management to plan, execute and deliver NAVs, management reporting and statutory reporting in line with accounting and regulatory requirements.
• Perform quality control on payments, calculations and transactions before final approval by authorised persons.
• Prepare and implement entity‑specific reporting procedures.
• Ensure all reporting adheres to local law, GAAP or IFRS and other applicable principles.
• Develop and maintain divisional policies and procedures, supporting the rollout of new structures.
• Monitor daily tasks, delegate work and ensure timely completion of all responsibilities.

Required profile

• Significant experience and expertise in financial reporting and alternative‑asset environments.
• Proven ability to develop and mentor team members.
• Experience working with cross‑jurisdictional structures and ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
