Maintenance Technician – Preventive & Calibration Specialist

About the role

SGD seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure optimal performance of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems in high‑precision manufacturing or industrial environments. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, equipment calibration and reliability improvement, reporting to the Manager of Industrial and Production Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for machinery, equipment and systems.
• Conduct routine inspections and servicing to minimise breakdowns and downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs and maintenance activities using the IFS CMMS.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical or control‑system failures efficiently.
• Support root‑cause analysis for equipment breakdowns and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate with production teams to minimise disruption during repairs.
• Assist in installation, commissioning and performance verification of new machinery.
• Evaluate and implement upgrades to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Ensure critical spares are stocked to avoid extended downtime.
• Participate in risk assessments, safety audits and compliance reviews.
• Apply lean maintenance practices such as 5S/6S and contribute to process improvements.
• Support operator training on basic equipment care and early fault detection.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance methodologies.
• Experience with calibration processes aligned to ISO/IEC 17025 or MIL‑STD standards.
• Proficiency in using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably IFS.
• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and control systems.
• Ability to conduct root‑cause analysis and implement data‑driven maintenance strategies.
• Familiarity with safety regulations, risk assessment and lean maintenance concepts.
