Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team in Pretoria. The role focuses on ensuring production equipment is reliable, available, and performing at its best through proactive maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC‑related equipment failures.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns, restore operations safely and minimise downtime.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance according to schedule and verify task effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with LOTO and safety procedures.
• Lead root‑cause investigations using structured methods such as 5 Why, Fishbone and A3, and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and drive equipment reliability improvements, support upgrades, and manage critical spare parts.

Required profile

• Millwright Trade Test, Mechatronics Diploma or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 5 years in a sewing‑manufacturing setting.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Hands‑on experience with PLC‑controlled equipment, PLC diagnostics and industrial networks (Profinet, Ethernet, Fieldbus).
• Proficiency with Maximo Maintenance Management System and root‑cause analysis facilitation.
• Excellent communication, ability to work independently and coach team members.
