Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance function at a leading manufacturing operation in Durban. The role focuses on maximizing equipment availability, reliability and asset integrity while upholding the highest health, safety, quality and operational performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all planned, preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
• Ensure maximum equipment availability, reliability and asset integrity.
• Manage and optimise Asset Care and CMMS processes.
• Monitor equipment performance and drive reliability improvement initiatives.
• Oversee maintenance contractors, suppliers and service providers.
• Maintain statutory compliance of pressure equipment and other regulated assets.
• Identify equipment and operational risks and implement control measures.
• Promote a proactive HSEQ/HSSE culture within the maintenance department.
• Lead, coach, mentor and develop maintenance personnel.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years relevant maintenance experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
• Experience maintaining filling and packaging machinery, preferably in a lubricants manufacturing/packaging environment.
• Relevant qualification such as N6 Mechanical Engineering with Trade Test, S4/BTech Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Trade‑tested Millwright and/or LEAN/Six Sigma Green Belt advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance, reliability and asset care.

Required skills
