Maintenance Supervisor – FMCG (Durban North)

About the role

Our client in the fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector is looking for a dynamic Maintenance Supervisor to lead the level‑one maintenance team in a production environment. You will coordinate, coach and control daily maintenance activities while providing specialist technical advice to ensure optimal asset performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and updating the maintenance plan.
• Execute routine and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Ensure the availability of correct spares and tools.
• Conduct planned job observations and monitor system usage reports.
• Enforce asset‑care business processes and safety, health, and environmental legislation.
• Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and compliance with work‑permit procedures.

Required profile

• Grade 12 FTC (Electrical) or Mechanical trades certificate, or a Diploma; ideally an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Minimum 1‑2 years experience in an engineering supervisory role.
• Engineering maintenance experience in Malting, Packaging, Brewing or FMCG environments.
• Working knowledge of occupational health and safety, including LOTO and work‑permit systems.

Required skills

• Familiarity with maintenance management systems such as SAP.
• Understanding of WCM MEP strategies and initiatives.
• Practical knowledge of LOTO procedures.
