Maintenance Manager – Sawmill

About the role

Brambles is hiring a Maintenance Manager for its sawmill in Creighton. The manager leads the maintenance department, vehicle workshop, building and cleaning teams and is accountable for keeping plant equipment safe and reliable, with a zero-harm approach and minimal downtime. The role covers installations, repairs and upkeep of the mill's facilities, equipment and housing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead process reliability systems, preventive maintenance, technical improvements and skill development for inspection and repair teams
• Manage the maintenance strategy, PM schedules, job cards, CMMS and maintenance budget
• Oversee repairs and installations (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, machinery) and keep inspection records up to date
• Maintain spare parts inventory, statutory inspections, calibration and asset documentation
• Lead, coach and supervise a team of 22 employees, including fitters, electricians, millwrights, boilermakers, diesel mechanics, auto electricians and cleaners
• Manage external contractors for safety, scope, budget and timeline compliance
• Drive a safety culture, enforce zero-harm policies and GAP/Couch Positive requirements

Required profile

• Diploma
• Trade-tested Millwright or Electrician
• Minimum 8-10 years in a maintenance leadership role, preferably in a sawmill
• 10 years' experience in preventive maintenance, breakdown analysis and reliability improvement
• Experience with conveyor belts
