Maintenance Contract Supervisor - Control & Instrumentation

About the role

The Maintenance Contract Supervisor will oversee the Station Tunnel Management System (STMS), Station Access Management System (SAMS) and Fire Detection & Protection maintenance contracts across Gautrain infrastructure. Acting as the operator’s technical representative, the role ensures contractual compliance, asset reliability and continuous improvement of maintenance practices in stations, depots, tunnels and related facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day administration of control, instrumentation, access control and fire protection contracts, ensuring adherence to SLAs and statutory regulations.
• Monitor contractor performance against KPIs, verify deliverables and certify payments.
• Identify and manage contract risks, variations, claims and change requests throughout the contract lifecycle.
• Provide technical oversight for preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities in line with OEM recommendations.
• Coordinate with internal staff, external suppliers, concessionaire teams and utility providers to maintain safe, efficient operations.

Required profile

• Experience working in a live railway environment with strict safety and regulatory compliance.
• Strong understanding of maintenance contracts, asset management principles and relevant standards (ISO 9001, ISO 1401, SANS 10139).
• Ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts and emergency response periods.
