Logistics Specialist – Johannesburg

About the role

We are looking for a Logistics Specialist to manage the flow of stock across Zara’s South African supply chain. The role ensures timely movement of goods between suppliers, distribution centres, warehouses and retail stores while maintaining compliance and service quality. You will act as the central point of contact for internal teams and external service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of supply‑chain best practices, customs clearance requirements and other logistics factors.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, customs regulations, health and safety standards and relevant legislation.
• Implement and monitor logistics systems, policies, procedures and operational processes both internally and with external providers.
• Train and support stakeholders on logistics systems and processes.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end logistics activities to move stock between suppliers, distribution centres, warehouses and stores.
• Collaborate with internal teams, transporters, clearing agents, customs brokers and other external partners to guarantee smooth operations.
• Monitor delivery schedules, proactively address delays and take corrective actions.
• Analyse performance data, prepare operational reports and drive continuous improvement.
• Investigate delivery discrepancies, stock variances and logistics‑related queries, providing timely resolutions.
• Assist Customer Service with logistics‑related customer enquiries such as delivery delays, proof of delivery, damaged or missing shipments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in logistics, supply‑chain or stock administration within a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Detail‑oriented and highly organised with strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders and adhere to Service Level Agreements.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to operational excellence.
