Lodge Manager & Field Guide Couple – Luxury Safari Lodge

About the role

This unique position is designed for a couple who want to blend hospitality leadership with wildlife guiding at a luxury safari lodge in the Timbavati Nature Reserve. You will jointly manage daily lodge operations while delivering unforgettable game drives and bush walks for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all daily lodge operations, including guest services, staff management, stock control, procurement, budgets and administration.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences and maintain high service standards.
• Lead, train and motivate lodge staff, ensuring compliance with health, safety and operational standards.
• Coordinate maintenance projects and lodge improvements.
• Conduct professional game drives and bush walks, providing engaging wildlife interpretation.
• Ensure guest safety at all times and assist with guest hosting throughout their stay.
• Contribute to conservation, wildlife monitoring initiatives and maintain safari vehicles and guiding equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in luxury safari lodge management.
• 2–3 years’ guiding experience within a Big Five reserve.
• Strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s licence, First Aid certificate and Nature Site Guide qualification (NQF aligned).
• Passionate about hospitality, conservation and remote wilderness living.
