Locum General Practitioner – Daily Morning Sessions

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Locum General Practitioner to provide daily morning sessions at a residential and frail‑care facility in Pretoria. The role offers the chance to deliver meaningful, continuity‑focused medicine to residents ranging from independent living to sub‑acute care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct ward‑style rounds in the frail‑care unit (approximately 2 hours each weekday morning).
• Provide clinical consultations as directed by the duty Registered Nurse.
• Offer clinical oversight and support to the nursing team.
• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions of residents.
• Lead advance‑care‑planning discussions with residents and families.
• Optional weekend on‑call for genuine emergencies (remunerated separately).

Required profile

• MBChB with current HPCSA registration.
• Own medical indemnity cover.
• Experience in geriatric, family or sub‑acute medicine.
• Excellent communication and collaborative approach.
• Genuine passion for caring for older adults with dignity.
