Location Data Lead

About the role

Zutari’s Digital Practice is expanding its data practice and seeks a Location Data Lead for its Tshwane office. The role sits at the intersection of engineering and technology, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to connect static 3D and asset data with real‑time information.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and build a data team in Tshwane, working with the Zutari Data Lead.
• Collaborate across cross‑functional teams to deliver multiple concurrent data and analytics projects.
• Ingest and consolidate raw data from BIM, IoT sensors and ERP systems.
• Design, build and maintain scalable data architectures and end‑to‑end pipelines.
• Perform data analysis and develop BI tools to surface actionable insights.
• Research, prototype and validate machine‑learning and AI proof‑of‑concepts for business challenges.

Required profile

• Leadership experience leading data professionals with a "can‑do" attitude.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in data engineering or data science, including 2 years leading a team.
• Fluent in Python and GIT version control.
• Hands‑on experience with SQL databases, data warehousing and pipeline design.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical findings to non‑technical engineering stakeholders.
