Litigation & Debt Collection Paralegal – Full‑time

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Litigation and Debt Collection Paralegal to join our team in the Berea office of Durban. The role supports the litigation and debt recovery department, handling a range of court‑related documents and client interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Draft combined summons for body corporates regarding arrear and special levies.
• Prepare requests for default judgment, warrants of execution, and section 65 notices.
• Assist correspondent attorneys with case preparation and follow‑up.
• Generate invoices, statements of account, and manage disbursements.
• Handle magistrates’ court procedures, including issuing summons and lodging default judgment requests.
• Communicate with debtors, sheriffs’ offices, and clients via telephone.

Required profile

• Matric certificate (preferably with a bachelor pass).
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Excellent numeracy and organisational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with AJS or similar legal practice management applications.

• CTC salary of R8 500.00 per month.
