Litigation Associate – Cape Town CBD

About the role

We are seeking a Litigation Associate to join our legal team in Cape Town’s Central Business District. The successful candidate will handle commercial litigation matters, corporate law issues and dispute resolution, providing high‑quality legal advice and representation.

Key responsibilities

• Draft legal opinions, pleadings and other court documents.
• Manage commercial litigation cases from inception to resolution.
• Provide counsel on insolvency and business rescue matters.
• Navigate High Court procedures and apply commercial arbitration rules.
• Conduct mediation and arbitration processes for dispute resolution.

Required profile

• LLB degree and admission as an attorney; post‑qualification experience is advantageous.
• Well‑organised, conscientious and able to work under pressure.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills and a commitment to confidentiality.
• Honest, reliable and punctual.

Required skills

• Proficient drafting of legal opinions and pleadings.
• Working knowledge of insolvency and business rescue law.
• Understanding of High Court processes and commercial arbitration rules.
• Experience in commercial litigation, corporate law and dispute resolution (mediation and arbitration).
