About the role

The Light Equipment Operator is responsible for daily tasks that support the maintenance and operation of the city’s water and sewer systems. This role involves a mix of construction, maintenance, and service activities, requiring the operation of various light equipment and tools in challenging environments. The position also includes driving light trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and service the municipal water and sewer infrastructure, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.
• Perform a variety of construction, maintenance, and service activities, including repairs and installations, as directed.
• Operate small engine equipment and power tools safely to complete assigned tasks.
• Drive light trucks to transport tools, equipment, and materials to job sites.
• Carry out heavy physical labor in adverse weather or site conditions, adhering to safety protocols.
