Life Sales Agent

About the role

The purpose of the Sales Agent is to act as a strong brand ambassador in order to grow market share through the sale of Life products. The successful candidate will achieve this goal by educating customers on product benefits, providing excellent customer service and exceeding sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Maximise policy sales and monthly written premium in a compliant and customer‑centric manner.
• Act courteously and professionally with lead providers and customers.
• Execute the sales process with skill, knowledge, diligence and integrity.
• Optimise each lead by cross‑selling additional products where available.
• Use effective interpersonal and communication methods to gain product acceptance.
• Identify customer needs accurately through questioning and attentive listening.
• Match product benefits to customer needs and clearly demonstrate value.
• Handle objections professionally and provide appropriate solutions.
• Strive to become an expert through observation and collaboration.
• Continuously improve sales skills and share ideas to improve team effectiveness.

Required profile

• Matric or Grade 12 RE5 qualification is essential (candidates with only RE1 will not be considered).
• Must meet regulatory requirements including DOFA and FAIS Fit and Proper.
• Minimum 3 years call‑centre sales experience, including at least 1 year outbound.
• Minimum 2 years life‑insurance sales experience.
• Fluent in English and one other official language.
• Strong time‑management, negotiation and compliance orientation.
