Legal Specialist (12-month contract)

About the role

Our client in Bryanston is seeking a Legal Specialist on a 12‑month contract to provide expert legal and compliance advice, primarily focused on property lease and site‑sharing matters. The role involves supporting the internal legal team with timely, accurate analysis and guidance on commercial contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver legal and compliance advice to the legal team on commercial and contractual issues.
• Draft, review, negotiate and renew property leases, access agreements and site‑sharing agreements.
• Research and prepare legal opinions and reports for business stakeholders.
• Monitor changes in South African property law and brief stakeholders on impacts.
• Maintain regular communication with the legal team, providing updates on negotiations and disputes.

Required profile

• LLB degree with completed articles.
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience in commercial or property law.
• Strong research, drafting and negotiation skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication, analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Team player capable of collaborating with business and external stakeholders.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of R220 (approximately R35 200 per month based on 160 hours).
• Hybrid work arrangement – 4 days onsite in Bryanston, 1 day remote.
• 12‑month fixed‑term contract with no additional leave or benefits.
