Legal Secretary – Vehicle & Asset Finance

About the role

Our client, a well‑established law firm in Johannesburg, is seeking a Legal Secretary specialising in vehicle and asset finance (VAF). The role involves supporting the finance team with document preparation, client liaison and administrative duties while ensuring compliance and high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, prepare and amend legal documents and correspondence related to vehicle and asset finance matters.
• Manage Motor Finance Corporation (MFC) files from inception through registration to finalisation.
• Liaise with clients, financial institutions, attorneys and other stakeholders.
• Prepare, check and submit legal documentation.
• Monitor diaries, follow‑up actions and deadlines.
• Maintain accurate filing systems and electronic records.
• Perform general legal secretarial and administrative duties.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and service level agreements.
• Provide excellent client service while maintaining confidentiality.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience as a Legal Secretary in a vehicle and asset finance environment.
• Proven experience handling MFC matters.
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Professional, reliable and client‑focused attitude.
