Legal Counsellor – Service Centre

About the role

LegalWise is seeking a dedicated Legal Counsellor to join its Service Centre team. You will provide high‑quality legal advice to members, ensuring timely and affordable access to justice across South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Render general legal advice and resolve client issues.
• Administer case files, including diarising, drafting correspondence, and data capture.
• Conduct telephonic consultations with members and deliver clear advice.
• Provide regular feedback to members, managers, senior counsellors, and head office.
• Support branch operations and undertake ad‑hoc tasks as required.

Required profile

• LLB or law degree with 1‑3 years of legal experience, or a 2‑year paralegal diploma with 3‑5 years of experience.
• Admitted attorney status is advantageous.
• Internal candidates must be competent on Legal Counsellor Level 1 portfolios.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
