Legal Counsel – Property Leases & Compliance

About the role

Are you an admitted attorney who enjoys more than just reading contracts? We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join a growing business operating in the property, leasing and telecommunications environment. This role offers the chance to apply legal expertise to commercial property leases, compliance matters and business stakeholder interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate property leases and related agreements.
• Manage lease renewals, amendments and ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Provide legal advice on property and commercial matters and monitor regulatory compliance.
• Identify contractual and commercial risks and propose practical solutions.
• Liaise with landlords, tenants, property owners, service providers and other stakeholders.
• Support telecommunications‑related property and legal issues where applicable.

Required profile

• LLB degree or equivalent legal qualification.
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa (essential).
• Experience in commercial law, property law, lease management or compliance.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple agreements and deadlines.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
