Legal Counsel: Legal & Compliance

About the role

This junior legal counsel position supports the Legal function by managing a defined portfolio, providing practical advice to internal teams, drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, and driving compliance initiatives across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Carry and manage an allocated legal portfolio under supervision, delivering clear and timely advice to business units.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including supply, service level, procurement, sponsorship, and confidentiality contracts, while promoting the use of approved templates and contract‑lifecycle tools.
• Drive day‑to‑day compliance activities, supporting policies such as Data Privacy, Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest, Anti‑Bribery, Gifts & Entertainment, Ethics, and Whistleblowing.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, prepare practical guidance, and assist with statutory submissions and regulatory engagements.
• Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, providing service‑oriented legal and compliance support and embedding best practices within business units.

Required profile

• Junior legal counsel role with appropriate supervision.
• Accountable for allocated matters and proactive in stakeholder support.
• Ability to manage potentially litigious or contentious issues in a commercially sensible manner.
