Legal Counsel – Industrial Projects

About the role

The Legal Counsel will provide specialised legal support to DHL’s freight forwarding business, operating in a multi‑jurisdictional project engineering environment. You will ensure robust legal guidance, implement processes to mitigate risk, and protect the company’s interests across contracts, claims and litigation.

Key responsibilities

• Review and negotiate complex contracts within the freight forwarding and logistics context.
• Provide legal advice across multiple jurisdictions, balancing legal guidance with operational considerations.
• Advise functional and operational teams to ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable laws.
• Prepare legal documents, letters of agreement, and trade‑related contracts, especially with global DHL customers.
• Support the resolution of claims against the company and liaise with external counsel.
• Conduct legal research, draft documents, manage contract administration and maintain legal records.
• Analyse and apply legal rules and regulations in a multi‑jurisdictional setting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• 4+ years of legal practice in a commercial law firm or in‑house legal department.
• Experience with contracts in logistics, construction, engineering or oil & gas sectors.
• Proven ability to draft, review and negotiate complex commercial contracts.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to advise senior management.
• Strong organisational skills, capable of managing competing priorities and delivering under pressure.
