Legal Advisor – Property Development

About the role

Our client, a diversified property development group, is looking for a practical and commercially‑minded Legal Advisor to join the Tyger Waterfront team in Bellville. You will provide comprehensive legal, commercial and HR support across multiple business units, helping to manage risk and ensure strong governance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general legal advice to management and internal stakeholders.
• Support implementation of company policies, procedures and best practices.
• Identify, assess and assist in managing legal, commercial and compliance risks.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial and property‑related agreements (sales, leases, construction, loan, security, confidentiality, etc.).
• Assist with property acquisitions, disposals, title deed reviews and conveyancing matters.
• Liaise with external attorneys, conveyancers, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Support litigation management, dispute resolution and board/shareholder governance processes.
• Prepare employment contracts, appointment letters, disciplinary documentation and maintain HR policies.

Required profile

• LLB degree and admission as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum 5 years post‑admission experience.
• Strong experience in commercial contract drafting and legal advisory work.
• Solid knowledge of commercial, corporate and property law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
