Legal Advisor – Litigation

About the role

The company is seeking a Litigation‑focused Legal Advisor to support its Post‑Investment Monitoring and Turnaround teams. You will work on emerging loan defaults, deal restructurings and provide expert legal solutions for complex corporate finance transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver prompt, sound legal advice to the Post‑Investment and Turnaround departments.
• Prepare and review submission papers for the Portfolio Management Committee and other relevant committees.
• Implement and monitor debt‑recovery, litigation, business‑rescue and other court processes, whether handled internally or by external counsel.
• Lead company restructurings, drafting all related legal agreements.
• Address legal matters for the company and its investee entities, including amendments to funding structures and contract negotiations.
• Provide general legal counsel across all business units and manage external legal costs and budgets.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of litigation and court experience.
• LLB with at least three years post‑article experience; admission as an attorney.
• In‑depth knowledge of corporate finance, structured finance and investment banking law, plus tax, Companies Act and insolvency law.
• Experience in turnarounds, restructurings and finance‑related legal work.
• Strong ability to prepare accurate legal documentation and convey clear legal opinions.
