Legal Advisor – Labour & General Litigation

About the role

Join a dynamic legal team within a leading healthcare organization in Johannesburg. As a Legal Advisor specialised in Labour and General Litigation, you will support strategic decision‑making and protect the business from legal risk.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee labour, civil, commercial, contractual and general litigation matters.
• Conduct legal risk assessments and advise on mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with and instruct external attorneys and counsel.
• Attend Labour Court, High Court and other proceedings as required.
• Provide guidance on labour relations, collective bargaining, union engagements and industrial relations.
• Ensure compliance with labour legislation, court rules and procedural requirements.
• Research legislation, monitor regulatory changes and advise the business.
• Prepare litigation reports for management and governance.

Required profile

• At least 5 years post‑admission experience in labour, civil, commercial and contractual litigation.
• Strong understanding of South African labour law and industrial relations.
• Excellent legal research, analytical and advisory abilities.
• Proven ability to work effectively with external counsel.
