Legal Advisor – In‑house Counsel

About the role

TFG Africa is seeking a qualified and experienced admitted attorney to join its legal team as a Legal Advisor. The role will support the company’s service and retail divisions across South Africa and other African markets, providing specialist legal advice and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and settle local and international supply and service agreements.
• Provide legal advice to business units on compliance with CPA, FICA, ECTA, GDPR and POPIA.
• Assist with dispute resolution, including contractual disputes, letters of demand, summons and regulator complaints.
• Brief and manage external attorneys for outsourced matters and oversee their work.

Required profile

• Admitted attorney with at least 5 years post‑admission experience in a law firm or in‑house role.
• Forward‑thinking, commercially minded and solution‑oriented.
• Strong analytical and research abilities with excellent stakeholder communication.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office suite.
