Learnership for Student Teachers – 4 Positions

About the role

Marist Brothers Linmeyer is offering four learnership positions for student teachers who are currently studying towards a Bachelor of Education or a Post‑graduate Certificate in Education. The role provides on‑the‑job training in a Catholic school environment while the candidates continue their distance‑learning studies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in classroom teaching across primary and secondary phases, supporting subjects such as Mathematics, English, Information Technology, Sciences or general foundation learning.
• Contribute to the school’s extra‑curricular programme and uphold the Catholic, Marist ethos.
• Engage in continuous professional development, welcome constructive feedback and apply it to improve teaching practice.
• Support the school’s transformation, equity and belonging objectives to foster an inclusive and safe learning environment.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the third or fourth year of a distance‑based BEd programme or registered for a PGCE.
• Specialisation in one of the following phases: ECD/Foundation, Intermediate, Senior or Further Education and Training.
• South African citizenship.
• Willingness to work full‑time in a school while completing distance learning.
