About the role
The Learner Support Assistant will work within YMCA Derbyshire's Key College to help young people succeed in their learning journeys. This part‑time, term‑time role provides vital pastoral and administrative support to learners, ensuring a safe and encouraging environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist learners with daily classroom activities and learning resources.
- Provide one‑to‑one and group support to help students overcome barriers to learning.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and any interventions.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to deliver a supportive learning environment.
- Help organise and supervise extracurricular and enrichment activities.
Required profile
- Enthusiastic and caring attitude towards young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly within a part‑time, term‑time schedule.
- Commitment to the values of inclusion and community support.
