Key Accounts Manager

About the role

John Thompson, a division of ACTOM, is seeking a motivated Key Accounts Manager to drive growth of its Industrial Watertube Boiler Business Unit. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you will work closely with internal teams and external partners to expand market share across industrial steam generation, sugar, biomass and energy transition sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Support and execute business development strategies to identify new markets and opportunities.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with industrial clients, sugar mills, EPC contractors, consultants and suppliers.
• Participate in customer visits, technical discussions, industry events and tender processes.
• Prepare tenders, proposals and commercial submissions, coordinating technical and commercial inputs.
• Negotiate contracts, identify commercial risks and ensure smooth handover to execution teams.
• Develop and qualify local and international suppliers, driving cost optimisation.
• Monitor market trends, emerging technologies and competitor activity, providing intelligence to management.

Required profile

• Commercially minded engineer with a strong focus on customer engagement.
• Experience in business development, market expansion and tendering within industrial sectors.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactive approach to supplier development and cost optimisation.
