Key Account Manager – Dischem (Durban Based)

About the role

The Key Account Manager will act as the primary liaison between Dischem and its trade partners in Durban, driving sales growth, managing promotional activities, and ensuring product availability across stores. This role requires close collaboration with internal sales, marketing, and operations teams to meet both short‑term and long‑term brand objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate sales planning, trade investments, new product launches (NPD) and re‑launches between Sales and Customer Marketing.
• Accurately forecast sales based on trends, promotions, ROS, stock levels and monthly net‑sales targets.
• Plan and conduct customer meetings, prepare monthly and quarterly reviews, and document actions within 72 hours.
• Negotiate and confirm promotional activities, co‑op spend and discounts in line with agreed ABP and TTC guidelines.
• Monitor SKU assortment, distribution and on‑shelf availability at DC and store level.
• Launch NPDs, ensuring listings and shelf placement across targeted stores.
• Respond to customer queries and resolve issues within 24 hours.
• Implement price increases and maintain compliance with RSA BDF price list and trading terms.
• Conduct regular store visits, capture feedback and competitor activity, and share insights with relevant stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in key account management.
• Excellent analytical skills for forecasting, reviewing sales data and identifying risks.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Detail‑oriented approach to documentation, pricing and trading term compliance.
