Junior Short-Term Insurance Technical Specialist

About the role

Belmar Personnel is looking for a Junior Short-Term Insurance Technical Specialist to provide technical product support within its short‑term insurance division. You will work closely with a large network of financial advisers, handling complex cases across personal, commercial and specialist lines.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and review compliance and renewal documentation for large insurance cases.
• Review renewal schedules, records of advice, loss‑ratio histories and risk information.
• Prepare and review large‑case policies across personal and commercial lines.
• Resolve technical matters involving personal, commercial and specialist products.
• Provide technical product support to financial advisers and liaise with product providers.
• Recommend improvements to the large‑case review process and stay updated on regulations.
• Prepare technical presentations, business analysis and assist with process‑improvement projects.
• Coordinate engagements between advisers, relationship managers and product providers.
• Track progress of team and cross‑functional projects, maintain stakeholder relationships and manage internal requests.
• Compile monthly reports on large cases for management and hold weekly stakeholder meetings.

Required profile

• Matric Certificate.
• NQF Level 5 qualification in Short‑Term Insurance or a relevant qualification.
• 2–4 years of experience in personal and commercial lines insurance.
• Strong knowledge of short‑term insurance products, underwriting and claims processes.
• Direct experience supporting financial advisers and working in an insurance brokerage environment.
• Experience compiling monthly management reports on large or complex insurance cases.
• Ability to work in Centurion or Cape Town.
