Junior Service Technician

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Service Technician to maintain and support HeadCount and IdentiPark network equipment across Gauteng and surrounding provinces. The role involves handling escalated support issues, conducting site surveys and ensuring network reliability in line with service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Ethernet, 422 and CAT5/6 LAN/WAN networks for HeadCount and IdentiPark systems.
• Perform proactive maintenance, quality control and inventory management of network hardware.
• Conduct site surveys and meetings to determine service and cabling requirements.
• Provide first‑line technical support and resolve escalated client issues.
• Train clients on proprietary software and document service activities.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of full‑time work experience, including three years in technical support and network installation.
• Grade 12 certificate and a valid driver’s licence with willingness to travel.
• Ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and methodical problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Installation and maintenance of Ethernet and 422 networks.
• CAT5/6 cabling and LAN/WAN configuration.
• Hardware troubleshooting and support for network devices.
• Software support for proprietary applications on Windows operating systems.
