Junior Restaurant Manager

About the role

We are seeking an energetic Junior Restaurant Manager to support the day‑to‑day operations of our restaurant in Sandton. You will lead by example on the floor, ensure smooth front‑of‑house service and help deliver a friendly, efficient experience for every guest.

Key responsibilities

• Support opening and closing procedures and coordinate daily front‑of‑house activities.
• Welcome guests, monitor service quality and resolve queries or complaints professionally.
• Brief, supervise and motivate waiting staff; assist with rosters, coaching and training.
• Collaborate with kitchen and hotel teams to ensure accurate, timely service.
• Manage reservations, table allocations and special guest or function requirements.
• Complete cash‑ups, verify bills and POS transactions, and maintain accurate records.
• Monitor stock, place orders, receive supplies and help minimise waste and losses.
• Promote menu items, specials and upselling to support sales and profitability.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, hygiene, food‑safety and health‑and‑safety.
• Assist with reports, guest feedback, staff performance and continuous service improvements.

Required profile

• Previous supervisory or junior management experience in a busy restaurant, hotel or hospitality environment.
• Strong guest‑service, communication, leadership and problem‑solving abilities.
• Hands‑on, organised and dependable approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Hospitality qualification and knowledge of wine and beverages is advantageous.
