Junior QC / Laboratory Technician

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior QC / Laboratory Technician to join our well‑established FMCG manufacturing organisation in Durban. You will support laboratory testing, production quality control and ensure food‑safety compliance across our operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine quality inspections across production processes.
• Perform laboratory analysis and testing of raw‑material, in‑process and finished‑product samples.
• Monitor compliance with quality, hygiene and GMP requirements.
• Inspect finished products prior to dispatch.
• Support incoming raw‑material and packaging inspections.
• Maintain accurate laboratory and quality records.
• Support food‑safety and quality‑management systems.
• Identify and report quality deviations and non‑conformances.
• Ensure testing and quality activities are completed accurately and timeously.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with a Diploma or Degree in Food Technology, Biotechnology, Food & Nutrition or Analytical Chemistry.
• 2‑3 years of relevant experience, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing.
• Experience with FSSC 22000 standards.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good communication and report‑writing skills.
• High attention to detail and willingness to work shifts.
