Junior Operations General Manager

About the role

Alunite Boland is seeking a Junior Operations General Manager to support day‑to‑day operational activities at its Wellington site. This full‑time, on‑site position will help coordinate production schedules, monitor workflow, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily production schedules and track job progress.
• Assist with resource allocation, staff rosters and support for team leaders.
• Coordinate with suppliers, service providers and internal departments to resolve operational issues.
• Update operational reports, support quality‑control processes and help implement SOPs.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with safety regulations.

Required profile

• Experience in operations, production or general‑management support within construction, manufacturing or a related field.
• Strong organisational, planning and time‑management abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams and external partners.
• Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to address day‑to‑day operational challenges.
• Basic understanding of budgets, job costing and operational performance reporting.
