Junior Network Engineer

About the role

Join EasyPay’s network team within Lesaka Technologies and help keep a high‑volume transaction network running smoothly across thousands of retail sites. As a Junior Network Engineer you will monitor, troubleshoot and support LAN, WAN and VPN links while gaining hands‑on experience in routing, switching and security.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor network health across LAN, WAN and VPN links and proactively escalate potential issues.
• Triage and resolve first‑line incidents such as connectivity drops, latency spikes and routing problems.
• Assist senior engineers with firewall, switch and router configuration changes.
• Maintain up‑to‑date network documentation, diagrams and asset inventories.
• Support patching, firmware updates and scheduled maintenance windows.
• Log incidents and track them to resolution in the ticketing system.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in a network or IT support role, or a relevant diploma/certification with strong practical exposure.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VLAN concepts.
• Comfortable troubleshooting live production systems under pressure.
• Clear communicator able to explain technical issues to non‑technical colleagues.
• Willingness to work occasional outside‑standard hours for maintenance or incidents.
