Junior Legal Associate

About the role

Spartan SME Finance is seeking a Junior Legal Associate to join its internal legal department. This is an entry‑level, hands‑on position for an admitted attorney with at least one year of post‑article experience, focused on commercial recoveries, litigation support, and new loan transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing commercial recovery matters under the direction of senior legal staff.
• Interact with court sheriffs and related parties to progress recovery processes.
• Prepare affidavits, court papers, and other recovery documentation.
• Learn to draft loan agreements, pledge and cession agreements, guarantees, and related legal documents from standard templates.
• Develop an understanding of Spartan’s loan products and how they translate into security and enforcement.
• Maintain accurate recovery files, records, and system information.
• Travel to other towns when required to meet tight deadlines.

Required profile

• Admitted attorney with a law degree.
• Minimum of one year post‑article experience.
• Motivated to learn and grow within a legal team.
• Willingness to work on‑site and travel as needed.
• Ability to follow direction, meet deadlines, and uphold Spartan’s position with stakeholders.
